Snædís Högnadóttir is a mother of two and a trained educationalist, with an MS in marketing and international business.
Art has always had a big place in her life. For several years, art was primarily a side project alongside other jobs.
Finally, Snædís decided to make her dream come true and devote herself fully to art.
Today, she works independently and runs her own art studio in Víkurhvarf 1.
Snædís is also studying a 200-hour yoga teacher training course at Yoga Shala under the guidance of several great teachers and will graduate as a yoga teacher in May 2026. However, she has been practicing yoga since 2012 and her interest in yoga has followed her for many years.
Her dream is to teach yoga to children early in life, so that they learn to utilize the good methods that yoga offers to calm the mund, even when anxiety or discomfort arise.
Snædís has many years of experience working with children, both in preschool and primary schools. She worked for over ten years as a special needs teacher and support worker for children with special needs, both at Kópavogur social services and in kindergartens in Kópavogur. She also recently completed a course in first aid for young children with the Icelandic Red Cross.
In the summer of 2026, Snædís will offer a summer course where kids' yoga and art are combined in a creative and constructive work for children aged 7–9 (born 2017–2019).
The course is supported by Kópavogsbær and will also be advertised by Kópavogsbær. Snædís has permission from the Health Inspectorate to hold courses in the space.
